Meet the people shaping our county’s future!
Since its formation in 1988, the Walsh County Job Development Authority (WCJDA) has been a driving force behind local growth and opportunity. What began as a vision shared by county and community leaders has evolved into a county-wide engine for entrepreneurship, community development, and investment.
Fueled primarily by a county mill levy, along with loan repayments and grants from partner organizations, the WCJDA puts its resources right where they matter most: supporting local businesses and communities. Projects range from interest buydowns and direct business loans to feasibility studies and matching grants, helping turn great ideas into real results.
The JDA’s mission is simple: help communities and businesses thrive. Staff and board members work side by side with entrepreneurs, community leaders, and local organizations to bring new opportunities to life. Whether that means supporting a new business expansion, coordinating financing, or connecting partners across the region, the WCJDA serves as a bridge between local energy and development potential.
Behind every initiative is a dedicated Board of Directors, appointed by the Walsh County Commission. This 15-member board guides the organization’s work, reviews funding applications, and ensures investments deliver long-term benefits for the people of Walsh County. Members serve staggered three-year terms, offering a steady mix of experienced leadership and fresh perspectives.
